How Are You Feeling?

Here are just a few of the situations you might be experiencing

Pain

There are many types of pain. Mental pain; emotional pain; spiritual pain; but mostly people associate with physical pain. Pain itself, and consequently the fear of pain, can cause you to avoid both physical and social activities. Over time this not only leads to less physical strength (it hurts too much to work your body in any way, so you stop running or going to the gym) so you also lose functionality too. Weaker social relationships develop too (you get fed up with having to explain yourself ‘again’, and you realise people just don’t want to hear about it anymore – their sympathy only goes so far).

The mental stress and biologic psychological effects of pain can be just as severe as the pain itself. In fact, people with chronic pain are three times more likely to develop depression. Balancing the body and finding the cause creates relief and calm that overflow in every area of your life.

Anxiety

Anxiety involves excessive worrying or stress about specific situations or aspects of a person’s life. Anxiety can disrupt your life by impacting your home life, work life, and your social life, your self-confidence and ability to complete daily tasks at work or school. Constant anxiety will impact on your digestive system (common complaints are initially about digestion mistakenly being considered the main issue). It will affect your mood, and your behaviour in general; your sleep patterns (you just can’t get to sleep as your mind won’t stop, or you are constantly waking up and finding it difficult to get back to sleep – you wake tired every day).  More importantly it will lower your immune system, making you a lot more vulnerable. It will get worse over time and the adrenalin that is constantly released (which is a hormone), disrupts other systems of the body, but eventually if it goes on long enough, adrenal fatigue becomes an issue and that is hard to come back from.  We find the cause behind the anxiety, and it becomes a thing of the past.

Panic

Panic is made worse by stress, and stress can cause a panic attack! They are often due to experiences that have overwhelmed the mind and by events or situations that haven’t been processed properly (nowadays there is just no time to do that). Unfortunately, they are becoming more and more common. Frequently they can happen abruptly, with little or no notice. They impact on your life. They stop you from doing things, because you are fearful that it is going to happen when you are out, or driving, or in a crowd, on an airplane, in the middle of a business meeting, or at a party. Let’s face it, there is NEVER a convenient time! They can transform your life and you can develop other problems such as depression, mistrust, irritability, and constant anxiety. Often you are a person who tends to solve and get through your problems yourself. You do not accept that you are experiencing something you can’t control. It becomes a struggle to admit your experience comes from your mind and not your body. We can work to provide you peace of mind by finding the cause behind your overwhelming and unprocessed experiences.

Anger

Anger has its place, sure. However, the body goes into fight/flight response and floods the body with stress hormones (adrenalin & cortisol). This means it also shunts blood away from the gut and towards muscles in readiness for exertion. So eventually with constant anger episodes, it not only makes it difficult to solve problems and change behaviour, but it will affect your digestions (see Stress and Anxiety above). If it starts to rule your days and you blow up at things that others see as small problems, it’s time to do something about it. Unexplained and habitual anger disrupts you living life and if it is aimed at a child or partner, starts to create a negative impact on their behaviour towards you. You are likely to make poor choices as well as damage your relationships – seek assistance before it turns to physical violence. Vented anger after all, can also be considered mental and emotional abuse. Often there is a cause behind the unreasonable anger; we find that cause without you having to relive any bad experiences you may have suffered, therefore can create a better perspective on life and reduce soaring blood pressure and other associated health problems too.

Overweight

This can simply be related to lack of understanding what certain foods do to the body, but more often develops from emotional eating, as comfort food/drink makes you feel marginally better for a short period of time. This becomes a habit very quickly; before long the microbiome of the gut sends signals ‘demanding’ certain foods be eaten. Often called ‘craving’, but it’s a demand nevertheless; for more sugar or the foods/drinks that create glucose in the body. The body cannot cope adequately with this and starts to store fatty tissue, usually around the middle and you start to put on weight.

The cycle seems difficult to break, but certain protocols, coupled with your determination to lose these devastating habits, can be a lot easier to overcome than you’d think.

Low Confidence

Low confidence and lack of self-esteem often go hand in hand. The consequences are that you are overlooked at work, you aren’t listened to or just not heard at all. You’d rather stay in your comfort zone because it reduces your risk of failure. You often feel inadequate and question your abilities. You may sabotage yourself constantly as you lack trust in yourself to be able to do any job as well as you think others would do it – so sometimes you just choose not to even try. This makes you feel safe as you can’t fail, but then you feel utter frustration and disappointment that you didn’t just try, and it begins to undermine your self-esteem.

Not having the confidence to confront issues at work or with your family, can have a negative effect on your health and well-being. This does not have to be the end result though, as we get to the cause and defuse it. Giving you back your self-worth and the power of self. Realising you are a force to be reckoned with – for yourself.

Abuse

There are so many forms of abuse – none is acceptable! Whether is it mental, emotional, physical, or sexual abuse, they are all damaging to the abused, (but also to the abuser). Bullying in any situation is harmful and can leave you damaged. The most insidious and most difficult to deal with, is the mental and emotional abuse, as it SO well hidden from view and usually the abuser is so clever at camouflage. Sometimes, so much so, that even the abused doesn’t quite realise what is happening until it is nearly too late. It can be that subtle. Their control over your developing feelings of being in the wrong all the time is exactly where they want you to be. You are made to feel inadequate, incompetent, weak, unworthy, unimportant, and pathetic. This in no way diminishes the other forms of abuse which can and do leave scars for life, especially for the younger the person who is being abused.

If you need help to recuperate from any forms of abuse, to enable you to better grow into your future and leave the old scars behind, then Neuro-Training helps enormously, easily, and quickly without having to revisit old and often painful memories.

Stress

Stressful feelings lead to a chaotic pattern in the beat-to-beat of the heart’s rhythm, indicating your nervous system is out of sync. When this happens, a cascade of more than 1400 biochemical changes are set in motion that have a wide range of effects on your body’s systems.

Research into the neurosciences has made clear that emotional processes operate so fast they bypass the mind’s linear reasoning.

Stress affects other functions in your brain too and stops you from learning, makes it difficult to concentrate, think clearly, remember, or to coordinate simple tasks.  Putting thing back into perspective, diffusing things at the core, gives you your life back.

Swollen Sore Joints

With today’s diet (food lacking in nutrients due to the fast-food and ‘easy packaged’ availability) and drinks high in sugar content, not to mention lack of regular and functional exercise, many people end up retaining fluids.

Being on your feet all day can cause fluid retention around the ankles and feet. Otherwise, it is often a whole-body retention.

Did you know, your lymphatic system circulates, cleans, and filters all the leftover blood in the body? It is your most important detoxification system. Learn more about Oedema (sore, swollen joints).

Lack of Sleep

Sleepless nights can often be the result of lack of sufficient exercise alone. The body needs an outlet and is meant to be physically used throughout the day. If this is not the case, then it can be any number of things. So, the quest would be to determine the CAUSE behind the sleeplessness.

This can be dissatisfaction with the life you are living, causing restlessness. Some emotional issues that are disturbing you on a subconscious level or mentally your mind just can’t stop going over things or stresses of the day. It could be a deficiency of a mineral or two, especially if your diet is lacking in variety of whole natural foods eaten both cooked and raw (salads). Or a combination of these things. Learn more about sleepless nights.

Joint Inflammation

When the body has experienced trauma or injury, it immediately reacts by having an immune response in which part of the body can become reddened, swollen, hot, and often painful, especially as a reaction to injury. It can swell as an army of beneficial white blood cells flow in to fight and help you heal. You may experience pain and tenderness, warmth at the site and especially stiffness. This is the body’s way of protecting itself as by causing loss of mobility it ‘forces’ you to not use that joint or area.

Often Bowen Therapy will help enormously as the small and gentle moves associated with this therapy will ‘tell’ the body that the emergency is over and to return to a more balance and preferred state of relaxed and normal motion. The sooner you receive Bowen after an accident, surgery, or trauma of almost any kind, the quicker your body will respond, and inflammation will be reduced.
Far better and easier than resorting to drugs, particularly corticosteroids which are known to cause serious side-effects.

When it’s simply a bacterial or viral infection, then the body’s immune system fights it and you might experience a temperature, sore throat, runny nose, etc. There is more about what you can do with this type of inflammation referred to in the page on Mineral Therapy.

Confusion

Have you ever felt you are in a situation where you just can’t make proper sense of what’s going on, or are constantly confused? You are frequently doubtful; or experience a sense of panic or uncertainty? You might call it brain fog; feel dreamy or undecided about the simplest things. It’s a struggle to focus, concentrate and keep your mind on track.

Sometimes, we can find ourselves regularly confused as people are not acting or reacting as we expect; or we are seeing a situation differently to everyone else. This can be very unsettling when it keeps happening. It adds to your confusion and sometimes you start to doubt your own sanity when things remain foggy and unclear. At Brilliant Living we can help you get ‘on track’ again and get your mind working as it should; you will see your world through clear eyes; find yourself calmer and more open to practical action and to valuable discussions. You discover a self-confidence and ability to listen to others with an open and more flexible approach. End the confusion!
